Honda Plans to Cut Emissions in Half

Since Honda has no electric vehicle, the company is looking to become more environmentally friendly. And in the coming years, its cars are aimed to have its total greenhouse gas emissions by 50%. Oh, we should also mention a plug-in model will appear in 2018.

These improvements will be made primarily through the design and production process. Honda just made a $210 million investment in its Marysville plant, which will lead to 18% reduction in emissions and 66% reduction in volatile organic compounds in the painting process, according to a company statement.

Beloved Employee Passes

Last week a beloved fellow employee Jose Magana passed away after a brave, fierce, respectable fight with cancer. 

Jose served 8 years at our store as a valuable part of the team. He was a great example of how to do things right. His great attitude, great work ethic and reliable nature made him one of the best. Jose’s wife, son and two daughters are very proud of the way Jose fought the tough fight for the past 8 months and those of us at work were amazed at the incredible attitude Jose demonstrated through every challenge along the way.

Jose will be missed but not forgotten. Jose’s family will remain in our thoughts and prayers through this time of challenge.

The all-new 2016 Honda Civic is set to debut at auto shows in Detroit and San Francisco on September 16th. While the picture above isn't an official look for the new Civic, the concept previously shown at the New York Auto Show may be close to its final design.

Civic fans can expect optional turbo-charged engines, a sportier look and other fun upgrades. 

The sedan is expected to be the first model of the all-new 2016 Honda Civic to be revealed, but a coupe, hatchback and Type-R version is expected to be unveiled soon after.

The 2016 Honda Accord will be the first mass-marketed car to come with Apple's CarPlay. As today's consumers become more and more technologically submerged, Honda is doing everything it can to keep up with the demand. 

"At a basic level, customers have been asking us why can't the technology of the car work as well as the technology of their phones," said Sage Marie, Honda senior manager of public relations. "Connectivity is important to millennials. Our research shows that many of them consider their time in the car as a disruption to connectivity."

CarPlay will provide users with some of the popular iPhone apps, using a built-in 7" screen on the dashboard. Connected by a cable, 2016 Honda Accord owners will be able to make calls, send texts, use e-mail, and listen to music.
