Honda Begins Testing Self-Driving Cars
Today, Honda announced it has began testing technology to bring consumers a vehicle that drives itself. Testing is taking place in the Bay Area, and the automaker is joining Mercedes-Benz at the "GoMentum Station."
The station is a 5,000-acre facility that is a former military base. There are 20 miles of private paved roads and buildings, giving the feel of a natural environment.
We foresee a future where vehicles will be able to communicate with each other and understand the roads, which will give travel boosted safety.
While other automakers have permits to test their self-driving cars on public roads in California, Honda is not quite there. In the future, this is likely to come.
Stay tuned for more updates as Honda releases news.
